I don’t often get to do a lot of children’s photography, but when I had the opportunity to do a Valentine’s mini session with Claire, I jumped on the opportunity. Her mom is also doing a series of photos each month showing her progress for her first year. These double as her 6 month photos. She’s actually 6 months old today! I’ll be up front about it – She is my niece, so I’m a little biased, but wait until you see how adorable she is. She was mostly happy throughout the session. I’ve shared a few outtakes, that will probably break some hearts, because she’s still adorable even when she’s making her sad face.
We were still setting up the backdrop when I snapped off this first shot as a test shot, but I loved the expression on her face.
Now for the outtakes. I think we’ve got a couple of shots for her 16th birthday invites.
It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to…
She was a real trooper throughout the session. Credit goes to my sister-in-law, Caitlyn, for the set design. I’m probably going to offer Valentine’s Day minis next year, so get ready! The photos make for great cards for the kids to hand out at school or if you’re into mailing Valentine’s cards to family and friends, that’s another great use.
We did these photos on Super Bowl Sunday and had the last minute idea, after this session was over, to leave the backdrop out and decorate it for the game to do a Superbowl themed photo booth. Photos from that will be coming up next, so be sure to follow me over on Facebook so you don’t miss that post.
